July 4th, 2014 | Posted by admin in Uncategorized

Planting Ceremony held on Tuesday 24th June 2014

This Community Remembrance Project in Imperial Gardens aims to Remember the Fallen.

Friends of Imperial Square Heritage and Conservation (FISHAC), have been in co-operation over many months with Cheltenham in Bloom, Cheltenham Borough Council and UBICO together with Bettridge School and The Butterfly Garden, culminating in a Planting Ceremony with the Mayor officiating on 24th June 2014 at which the Students finished off planting the Remembrance Beds, the majority of which was carried out by the Staff of Cheltenham Borough Council Parks Dept and UBICO.

A Community Pride Grant from Cheltenham Borough Council contributed to the Cost of this Community Project.

Members of Friends of Imperial Square and Gardens (FISG), were joined at the Ceremony by Representatives from Cheltenham in Bloom, the Royal British Legion, Cheltenham Borough Council Parks Dept. and UBICO together with several Borough Councillors and Volunteers from the Butterfly Garden,

This Centenary project provides a lasting focal point of Remembrance for All the Fallen within Imperial Gardens and an Interpretation Board nearby describes this Community Project.
